I (Chef Jessica) am constantly reminding my friends to drink water. My favorite water to drink is in the mountains at about 10,000 feet elevation hand pumped and filtered right out of a fast moving creek. Its clean, full of energy, tastes good and it feels good to drink.
I wanted to find a comparable source of drinking water here at sea level, so I let the research begin.
There’s no shortage of opinions about water among my friends including fervent believers in alkaline only, those who refuse all but bottled, and one nut who swears by the quality of Laguna Beach tap water. For drinking.
I was referred to a company in Laguna Woods called Pristine Hydro, where they clean the water of contaminants, remineralize it and restructure it. The result is an acid-free, revitalized magnesium bicarbonate water. It is highly oxygenated, alkaline pH and serves as an antioxidant in the body.
How is this possible? I found their 10-stage process fascinating. They remove dust, particulates, rust sediments, iron, manganese, heavy metals, fluoride, turbidity, chlorine, chloramines, organic contaminates, pesticides, chemicals, pollutants, acid rain, industrial waste, fluoride, bromine, pathogens, viruses and trace pharmaceuticals.
I learned in this process that more of these contaminants than we realize are still making their way into drinking water, even when it is bottled, filtered or treated to reverse osmosis. Even distillation doesn’t remove acids from water.
Now that the water is cleaned up, the scientists at Pristine Hydro make it into an antioxidant. The water passes through a magnesium cartridge, increasing the pH and adding an optimal level of magnesium bicarbonate, with traces of calcium, sodium, and chloride bicarbonates. These neutralize acids in the body, protect the cells from heavy metal toxicity, support the cardiovascular system, help with brain function and reduce inflammation.
The final stage is my favorite, when the water is vortexed. This means it is run over crystals, igneous rock, and lodestones as if it were in a natural stream. This naturally restructures, recharges, and reprograms the water with life force energy.
The water I brought home from Pristine Hydro tasted good and I felt good drinking it. That’s not surprising, now that I know it was not only cleaned up but run through its own simulated mountain creek. Try this water sometime and tell me what you think. It is a great option for those times when you cant be up at elevation pumping water out of a fast moving creek.
